Senior Life Moves on, With or Without You
This winter seems to have been so long. Is it because I’m older? On the West Coast, we usually have a pretty mild winter; sometimes we get snow, sometimes we don’t. This year, the snow stayed on the mountains.
Once we start in on March, spring has arrived. Not this year. It’s like the season said, we forgot winter, better go back and have a quick do-over.
At least, we didn’t get snow today. Our weather was beautiful this morning, sunny, bright, and all I needed was a vest while walking the dogs.
We could be in Calgary, where they got dumped on with snow this week, or you could be in Winnipeg. There, they will have snow and wind, with temperatures as low as -8 degrees, until next Tuesday, when it will be 18 degrees and sunny.
I found a saying on FaceBook which totally sums up my feelings.
This is no longer Winter. This is harassment.
The flowers are not cowed by these weather shenanigans. Every day as I walk Misty and Mimzy, I see how much the flowers have enhanced their beauty. This makes me enthusiastic to get going and work on my editing and writing. Life marches on with or without us.
Remember, as Mary Oliver says. Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable.
You might be surprised.
