A Carolyn Bethell Mystery

Giuseppe Guarascio, the patriarch of an Italian crime family, is found dead in his home. The police assume he died of natural causes or suicide and are therefore not motivated to investigate further. Giuseppe’s legacy will be continued by his two grandsons once they determine the cause of his death. If this was murder, how was it carried out, and who did it? Their only recourse is through violence.
Giuseppe’s good friend, Father O’Brien, knows old-style Italian Catholics wouldn’t commit suicide. Father O’Brien asks Carolyn Bethell to help investigate the murder. She will need all her expertise as a poison specialist to help him. She delves into the Italian section of Vancouver, BC, relying on her heritage to navigate the community. She must be careful as there is more than one gang involved, including the grandsons, who do not want her or Father’s help. Once Carolyn is involved, she cannot turn away.
