Senior Sleuths Series

The first book in the series, Crescent Beach, will be published in early 2025. You will enjoy having a slightly different leading character.

Abbey is a bright, active woman in her 60s who lives in a beachside community. She was widowed a year and a half ago and now is more interested in her small town and her long-term friends from nursing school.

Her life is turned upside down after finding a body on the beach. The fact that one of her friends is now a person of interest to the police brings Abbey and her friends closer together. They must figure out who is involved and how to protect themselves.

Carolyn Bethell Mystery Series

My First Murder is the first in the Carolyn Bethell Mystery series. Carolyn was an Emergency Room nurse who became a poison information specialist. She has been asked for help by Father Brown, an old friend. He says he needs her expertise in poisons as an old friend has died, and Father thinks it was murder.

His friend was the head of the Calabrian Mafia in Vancouver, and neither his family nor any of the local gangs wanted Father’s help.

Carolyn has always had an interest in forensic toxicology and an inquisitive mind.

Carolyn and Father Brown will investigate, as the police are not really interested in gangster politics and infighting.

Once Carolyn is involved, she cannot turn away.

My Second Murder is the second in the Carolyn Bethell Mystery Series.

Carolyn and Father Brown are off to Vancouver Island to an old lodge. Carolyn and her husband have been going to this lodge for many years to rest and recharge. She hopes the time away will help Father with whatever is bothering him.

Father will stay for the weekend and then return home, and Carolyn will be expecting her husband to join her from his overseas job.

Carolyn is upset when she finds out that the new manager is a fiance from long ago who was involved in drugs just before the wedding was called off. She hasn’t thought about the man for 25 years and, unfortunately, hasn’t mentioned him to Dann.

When they arrive Carolyn and Father take a walk on a path in the forest that lines the ocean. It is a beautiful fall day, and the last thing they expect to see is a body partially covered with leaves.
